Some graffiti work spotted on the 5th floor of Gurney Plaza. From the looks of it, these were drawn by teenagers during a recent cultural event here at the mall. Pales in comparison with the sort you may spot in other cities in the world but some of these are quite well conceptualised.

KDU Interior Design students Uchi Khor, 21, and Yeap Kai Shyuan, 22, emerged as champions in the Graffiti Competition while their fellow students Teoh Lee Chen, 20, and Tan Yih Shann, 20, won the second prize, and Koay Choo Eng, 20, from Equator Art Academy came third.

The competition was organised in conjunction with Hip Hop and Young Fashion Week. Participants were required to create their graffiti masterpiece on a 4ft x 8ft board in 90 minutes by using only spray paints. Participants could be either solo or in a team of two.

The top three winners were given RM1,000, RM800 and RM500 Echo Park Cash Voucher respectively, apart from a pair of Pallas shoes, Chicken Rice Shop meal voucher and GSC double movie passes.
