AT first glance, they look like the real thing. They are also wearable.

But they are unique. They are ‘sewn’ from tissue and toilet paper and kitchen towels complete with tapes and glue to put them together.

The 10 wedding gowns, creations of fashion design and graphic design students of the Equator Academy of Arts in Penang are vying for a place in the “Toilet Paper Wedding Gown” to be held at Gurney Plaza at 3pm today.

“The designs are fantasitc. The students definitely put in a lot of hard work into making them,” said Saiful Redzuan, a lecturer with the academy’s fashion design department.
